KARLSTAD, Sweden, Dec. 21 (UPI) — Youngsters participating in a massive Internet-organized hide-and-seek game at a Swedish Ikea store have apologized for frightening a customer.

Gustav Danielsson, a member of the 150-strong "flash mob" that descended on the Karlstad store Friday after the event was organized on Facebook, apologized for the "whooping and cheering" and "chaotic" behavior that led a frightened customer to flee through an emergency exit, Swedish News Agency TT reported Monday.

"We have saved up for a small Christmas present for her," Danielsson said.

Ylva Magnusson, press officer for Ikea Sweden, said company officials were not thrilled by the hide-and-seek event.

"We are happy that Ikea is somewhere people want to come to and that it’s pleasurable. But since safety is important, we will keep an eye on this kind of thing in the future," Magnusson said.
